Plaster quantity calculation is used to estimate the amount of cement and sand required for wall plastering work. It helps in proper material planning and cost estimation before starting site work.
Formula for Plaster Calculation
Step 1: Calculate area of wall
Area = Length × Height
Step 2: Calculate wet volume
Wet Volume = Area × Thickness
Step 3: Convert into dry volume
Dry Volume = Wet Volume × 1.33
For 1:4 mix ratio (Cement : Sand)
Total parts = 1 + 4 = 5
Cement = (1 / 5) × Dry Volume
Sand = (4 / 5) × Dry Volume
Example
If wall size is 5m long and 3m high with 12mm plaster thickness:
Area = 5 × 3 = 15 m²
Wet Volume = 15 × 0.012 = 0.18 m³
Dry Volume = 0.18 × 1.33 = 0.239 m³ (approx.)
