does apprenticeship count as work experience or not ?

  Does 01 year apprenticeship training will count as a work experience? I know, many student have this doubt that whether apprenticeship training will count as a work experience or not ? and it should be. So let me tell you today and clear your doubt about apprenticeship training  count as a work experience .  W ell, when I also completed my apprenticeship training, I had also this doubt in my mind. Then I searched and read about it many places and finally I got the proof of  apprenticeship training will count as a work experience.  My finally answer is YES  apprenticeship training will count or consider as a work experien ce. I share with you the proof this.    Click Here   (Go to  http://portal.mhrdnats.gov.in > Help > Process Manual (English) > Page No. 16 > Benefits to students > Point No. 10) Note:- The apprentice which is under the Ministry of Skill Devlopment & Entrepreneurship, in which the All india ...

Free BOQ Concrete Calculator with Rate & Wastage (m³ Calculation)

BOQ Quick Estimation – Complete Theory Guide

1️⃣ What is BOQ in Civil Engineering?

BOQ (Bill of Quantities) is a structured document used in construction projects that includes:

  • Item description
  • Quantity
  • Unit of measurement
  • Rate per unit
  • Total amount

It is mainly used for:

  • Tendering process
  • Contractor billing
  • Cost control
  • Project budgeting
  • Quantity verification

A properly prepared BOQ ensures transparency and financial accuracy in a construction project.

2️⃣ Why Quick Estimation is Important on Site?

On construction sites, engineers frequently need fast calculations for:

  • Slab concrete
  • Footings
  • PCC work
  • Columns
  • Beams

Manual calculations take time and increase the risk of errors.

A quick estimation tool improves:

✔ Productivity

✔ Accuracy

✔ Decision-making speed

✔ Client communication

3️⃣ Concrete Quantity Calculation – Basic Theory

Concrete is measured in Cubic Meter (m³).

Volume Formula:

Volume = Length × Width × Depth

Where:

  • Length = meters
  • Width = meters
  • Depth = meters

4️⃣ Why We Add Wastage?

On-site material loss occurs due to:

  • Spillage
  • Uneven surface
  • Handling loss
  • Compaction variation
  • Over-excavation

Standard practice:

  • Concrete: 5% wastage
  • Tiles: 3–5%
  • Brickwork: 5–10%

So final quantity becomes:

Final Quantity = Volume × 1.05

5️⃣ Cost Estimation Formula

After calculating quantity:

Total Cost = Final Quantity × Rate per m³

This gives the total BOQ amount for that item.

6️⃣ Practical Example

Suppose:

Length = 6 m

Width = 5 m

Depth = 0.15 m

Volume =

6 × 5 × 0.15 = 4.50 m³

With 5% wastage =

4.50 × 1.05 = 4.725 m³

If Rate = ₹7,500 per m³

Total Cost =

4.725 × 7500 = ₹35,437.50

This is the exact process followed in real BOQ preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. How do you calculate concrete quantity in BOQ?

Concrete quantity is calculated using the formula: Length × Width × Depth. The result is expressed in cubic meters (m³).

2. Why is 5% wastage added in concrete estimation?

5% wastage is added to account for material loss during mixing, transportation, handling and minor site variations.

3. What is the unit of concrete measurement in BOQ?

Concrete is measured in cubic meters (m³) in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ).

4. Can this BOQ calculator be used for residential projects?

Yes, this BOQ quick estimation tool is suitable for residential, commercial and small construction projects.
