Paint Quantity Calculator – Calculate Paint Required for Wall

Paint quantity calculation is important before starting wall painting work. It helps in estimating the exact amount of paint required and prevents unnecessary wastage.

Use our free online paint calculator below to calculate paint required for your room or wall.

Paint Calculator

Paint Calculation Formula

Step 1: Calculate wall area:

Area = Length × Height

Step 2: Multiply by number of coats:

Total Area = Area × Number of Coats

Step 3: Divide by paint coverage:

1 liter of paint covers approximately 10 square meters.

Paint Required = Total Area / 10

Example Calculation

If wall length = 5m, height = 3m, and 2 coats:

Area = 5 × 3 = 15 m²

Total area = 15 × 2 = 30 m²

Paint required = 30 / 10 = 3 liters

Why Paint Quantity Calculation is Important?

  • Accurate cost estimation
  • Prevents paint shortage
  • Avoids excess purchase
  • Helps in project planning

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I calculate paint required for a wall?

First calculate wall area by multiplying length and height. Then multiply by number of coats and divide by paint coverage (usually 10 square meters per liter).

How much area does 1 liter of paint cover?

On average, 1 liter of paint covers approximately 10 square meters for one coat. Coverage may vary depending on surface condition and paint type.

How much paint is required for a 10x10 room?

It depends on wall height and number of coats. For example, if wall height is 3 meters and 2 coats are applied, total paint required will be calculated based on total wall area divided by coverage.

Does paint calculation include doors and windows?

Basic paint calculation does not deduct door and window area. For accurate estimation, door and window area should be subtracted from total wall area.

Why is paint quantity calculation important?

It helps in cost estimation, avoids excess purchase, and prevents paint shortage during work.
